Story

The setting is a fictitious version of ancient China. Xie Lian, Crown Prince of the Kingdom of Xiang Le, has been granted special powers from Heaven. Continuing to practice deeds in the hope of saving others, he previously ascended to the position of the God of War. On two separate occasions, however, he was expelled from the heavens.
After the passage of 800 years, Xie Lian ascends to a position of prestige for the third time. However, he comes to be labeled the “Laughing Stock of Three Realms,” with no one worshipping him. Descending to the world below where human beings dwell, he attempts to collect worthless items and gather merits. On the day he was about to reemerge as a Shinto priest, he encounters a mysterious young boy named Saburo on his way home.

Notes

In China, this production was distributed on the Bilibili anime community from October 31, 2020. As of 2021, total viewings had exceeded 400 million. In Japan, it has been available on TOKYO MX and BS11 television stations since July 4, 2021, with Japanese language subtitles.
The Japanese subtitled version of the production has also been aired on the Home Drama Channel since July 2, 2021, with a Japanese dubbed edition scheduled to be broadcast from September of that year. Internet distribution of Japanese language dubbed and subtitled versions is also in the plans, including the portions deleted from television broadcasts due to airing time limitations.
