What is “Uchina Social Action” & “Shima Love Social Business Contest”?
The "Uchina Social Action" is be a Social Business Incubation and Promotion Project in Okinawa Prefecture inaugurated in 2021 in order support and spread awareness of social business start-ups.
Based on the principles of Yunus Social Business advocated by Nobel Peace Prize Laureate Prof. Muhammad Yunus, the project aims to make Okinawa Prefecture a Social Business Island.
As part of this project a program of 4 months was conducted to shape ideas of social business, present business plans, and even start a business.
The final outcome of this program will be presented at the “Shima Love Social Business Contest" which will be held at the 15th Okinawa International Movie Festival.
This will be the second consecutive year.
